GO European Focus Fund
The GO European Focus Fund (GOEFF) invests in a small number of underperforming European public companies and uses relational share owner engagement techniques to bring about change that will add long-term shareholder value. Through this shareholder engagement style of investment, we aim to earn for our clients investment returns that exceed our benchmark (after fees) by 5 per cent a year.
Our investment philosophy is based on our belief that companies with involved and informed share owners are worth more over the long-term. GO and our clients, generally long-term investors in public companies, believe that being an active, responsible owner is a key driver of long-term equity returns.
Long-Term vs Short Term
Many investors trade shares with a short term perspective. They are more inclined to sell shares in troubled companies, passing the problems onto “the greater fool” or seek short-term remedies that may undermine long-term value.
Owners tend to have a longer term perspective.

They are prepared to work with and support boards to achieve changes over time that add long-term value.
GO’s clients are responsible share owners; they are generally long-term investors in public companies who understand that they have responsibilities as well as rights.
